Trump Allows US Companies to Work with Huawei AgainBy Eric Murithi July 1, 2019 - 8:30 Caption: Huawei - Second largest smartphone maker
US organizations will be allowed to work with Huawei once more, US President Trump reported in a news conference.
It's a dazzling, if not by any stretch of the imagination astonishing turnaround, coming only weeks after the Trump administration called Huawei a noteworthy risk to US national security.
On the sidelines of the G20 summit in Osaka, President Trump said "US companies can sell their equipment to Huawei". "We are talking about equipment where there's no great national security problem with it." Trump was quoted in the Wall Street Journal.
Trump further said that his administration will hold meetings on how to deal with Huawei which is in the ban list. . It is not well understand what this means means, but most likely Huawei is going to get basic things like Qualcomm processor and buy Intel processors or be allowed to use Google's Android Operating System.
China;s readiness to purchase large amounts of US farm products is the major reason why President Trump was willing to allow American companies work with Huawei again.
Huawei spent a whopping $11 billion on chips made by Micron, Qualcomm and Intel alone, hence is a major customer for American owned hardware.
We aren't sure how quick this ban reversal will take. Huawei had predicted their revenues to go down by $30 billion in the next two years but thanks to the G20 summit. That nay not be the case.
