Our purpose is to rescue orphan children that are trapped in extreme poverty,
abandoned, abused, and forced into child labor in the African continent.
There are over 52 million orphans in Africa and a large number live in poverty.
Ethiopia counts one of the largest populations of orphans in the world: 13 per cent of children throughout the country are missing one or both parents. This represents an estimated 4.6 million children – 800,000 of whom were orphaned by HIV/AIDS.
It is estimated half of the children are involved in the worst kind of forced child labor, such as child prostitution, hard labor in mines and stone quarries, etc.
We at African Orphans Organization want to realize the full potential of orphan children. We want to ensure that they will be able to reintegrate their community as healthy, happy, responsible and independent adults.
African Orphans Organization’s mission is to cooperate and collaborate with local authorities and members of the community to offer a chance at life and a new start to orphans children. We aim to give them a first-class education, access to necessary health services and, above all, the opportunity to grow up healthy and happy in a safe, caring, warm and familial environment.
